Note: Benedictine monastery in the commune of Jumièges in the Seine-Maritime département, Normandy. Original structure founded by Saint Philibert in 654; burnt to ground by Vikings in 9th century. New church was consecrated in 1067. The site contains ruins of cloisters and two churches, Nortre Dame and St. Pierre. Was one of a group of Merovingian abbeys in Normandy that later became ducal monasteries, along with St. Ouen in Rouen, St. Taurin, Fécamp, Fontenelle, Montivilliers, Mont St. Michel, and Cerisy la Foret. Located in: Jumièges, Seine-Inferieure, France
