Note: In an artist's studio, three young men in contemporary dress sit or stand before a canvas on an easel. The man at center holds a palette, brushes and mahlstick and steps back from the canvas while a second man leans over the shoulder of the first, looking out toward the viewer's space. A third artist sits to the left, apparently making a drawing after the painting on the easel.
