Note: On the principal side is a scene from a phlyax play enacted on a simple stage supported by three posts. At the left is a slave who holds a stick in his left hand. He looks at an old woman who wears a peplos and has drapery billowing above her head. Coming to her from behind is a crowned figure holding a scepter topped by a bird, who may be Zeus. The scene may be a comic version of one of the amorous adventures of the god. On the secondary side is a draped youth standing between two women. The woman on the left holds a thyrsos in her right hand and gestures toward the youth. The other woman holds a long fillet. | |
