Note: Slender vessel with flaring sides, whose shape resembles the Greek kalathos, a basket that was used for wool-working and harvesting grapes. The bronze sides are decorated with strips of plain and ornamented tin. From the top: two plain rows enframe a row with dots. Below this is a row ornamented with a foliate frieze, bordered above and below by two plain bands. The central figural frieze shows Dionysos and his retinue, with a single band above and below. Below is another foliate band, a laurel frond, with a single band above and below. The bottom band shows dolphins, with a single band above and below. The bottom of the vessel is missing. | |
