Prometopidion (prometopidion; Unknown South Italian (South Italian Artist); about 480 BCE; J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Villa (Malibu, Los Angeles...; 83.AC.7.1)
Note: The prometopidion is decorated with incision and repousse as the frontal face of a helmeted warrior. The eyes of the warrior are inlaid with ivory and amber. The helmet's cheekpieces terminate as the heads of rams. At the bottom is the frontal head of a gorgoneion.
