Attic Red-Figure Cup (Foundry Painter (Greek (Attic), active 500 - 470 B.C.) (Gree...; about 470 BCE; J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Villa (Malibu, Los Angeles...; 86.AE.294)
Note: The tondo is defined by a meander border. Within, a couple are engaged in sexual intercourse. A nude youth wearing a wreath stands behind a nude woman who is bending over and supporting herself on a stool, atop which rests a full wineskin. His penis is inside her, and his left forearm cradles the back of her thighs. His right hand rests atop his right hip. The glaze used to indicate his hair is partially missing. The woman holds her left hand against hr left knee, and her right hand grasps the edge of the stool. She wears a fillet in her hair and a garter around her right thigh. Behind the youth is a knotty cane. A partial inscription is preserved behind the cane and above the youth. The outside of the cup is undecorated.
