Note: Considered the largest church in Scotland, St. Andrews Cathedral once served as the headquarters for the Scottish Church and the seat of leading bishops. It was consecrated in 1318 in the presence of King Robert I. The cathedral was abandoned in 1561 during the Scottish Reformation and eventually fell into ruin.
