Note: Drawing by Moreau Le Jeune at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge; State from Mahérault. L'œuvre de Moreau le jeune, no. 393; Dedicated to Madame la Marquise de Villette, Dame de Ferney-Voltaire, the print after a drawing by Jean-Michel Moreau, shows comedians at the Théâtre-français who, after having performed the play Irène, crown a bust of Voltaire with laurel wreaths. The philosopher himself is seated in a box at left, where he receives an ovation from the audience. Publication: A Paris : 1782.
