Note: On November 2, 1789, the National Assembly decreed that all property owned by the church should be at the disposal of the nation; Members of the clergy proceed out of the gates of a Gothic church, carrying their belongings; A bishop leans in a cart and laments, smoking a pipe and holding a wine vask. A mover, who follows a monk, supports a mattress on his back. Two nuns are accompanied by a boy who carries a bidet; Forms part of: Prints of the French Revolution, 1774-ca. 1840 (Special Collections, accn. no. P980009*). Publication: [ca. 1789].
