He was a pensionnaire at the Académie de France in Rome from December 1740 to March 1749; The print shows the funeral decorations designed by Ferdinando Fuga for the obsequies "in absentia" of the late king of Spain, Felipe V, held by the Spanish nation on September 15, 1746 at the Church of San Giacomo degli Spagnoli in Rome; The facade of the church on Corso del Rinascimento is shown adorned with a coat of arms, draperies, and trophies. In the background, Roman ruins and monuments, such as the Pantheon and the Trajan Column, appear in an imaginary setting; Watermark: fleur-de-lys within circle; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no. P910002**).
