Note: Painter and printmaker, active in Florence during the first half of the 19th century; The print depicts the masquerade of the triumph of Bacchus and Ariadne, designed by the painter and lithographer Luigi Cecconi for the carnival in Florence in 1846; A parade is shown in the Boboli gardens with the float of Bacchus and Ariadne, commedia dell'arte figures, and fauns and satyrs striking tambourines, blowing trumpets, and clashing cymbals. A sylvan holds a leash to which two lions are tied. Silenus rides an ass, aided by satyrs. The Palazzo Pitti appears on the left, while a panorama of Florence opens in the background, featuring the campanile and cathedral; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no.
