The etchings give detailed representations of the attitudes, gestures and forms of Correggio's figures: notably the Virgin Mary and Eve depicted amidst angels in the cupola (prints [1-3]), the apostles and ephebes that decorate the drum of the dome (prints [4-11]), and the patron saints of Parma, Bishop Hilary of Poitiers, Bernard, John the Baptist and the Apostle Thomas, painted in the squinches (prints [12-15]); The suite is composed of prints [1-3] pasted together, forming a single sheet (48.2 x 148 cm.), and of loose prints [4-15] (ca. 48 x 58.5 cm. or smaller). Each plate has binding holes along left edge and is enlarged by pasted paper borders. Watermarks throughout suite in paper borders. Lines of indentation visible on verso of prints. Publication: 1642.
