Note: Title devised; Both prints are signed in plate: "J. Kuyper, ad viv: del:" (on the left), and "R. Vinkeles & D. Vrijdag sculp." (on the right); The prints are part of the prolific graphic production depicting the revolutionary events generated by the conquest of the Netherlands by the French revolutionary army; One print has three small medallions in the center of the inscription area. They each contain a short inscription in Dutch: "Onderling voordeel geeft kragt aan het verbond;" "Verbonden 16 Mey 1795;" and "Dat eens de heilzon van eenigheid ons beschein." The other print has no medallions; The prints depict two festivals held in Amsterdam's Dam Square, newly renamed Plein der Revolutie in 1795. One of them represents the celebration of the Tree of Liberty erected on March 4th. The other depicts the celebration of the alliance formed between the French Republic and the newly created Batavian Republic on June 19th. The date is engraved in one of the three medallions placed in the center of the inscription area. Publication: [ca. 1795].
