Note: Nicolas Chaperon etched the suite of prints titled Sacrae historiae after the frescoes executed by Raphael's workshop in the Vatican Logge. The suite was first issued as a bound volume in Rome in 1649; The volume is comprised of a frontispiece depicting Nicolas Chaperon seated next to the bust of Raphael, a title page with a dedication to Gilles Renard, and 52 etchings after the frescoes decorating the Vatican Logge. The 52 etchings in rectangular or hexagonal shapes are numbered in the lower right corner of the plate. They are inscribed in the lower margin with the initials of Raphael, a caption in calligraphy, and the etcher's initials: N.C.F; Binding: quarter vellum and marble covers. Drawings of figures appear on verso of plates 25-26, 29, 31, 36-37, 45. (Moved from 91-B6923 to 2002.PR.19*) Publication: [Paris] : Petrus Mariette, excudit, [16--].
