Note: Whitman no. 275; The English printmaker Valentine Green travelled in Europe in 1775 and was appointed mezzotint engraver to Charles Theodore, the Elector Palatine. In 1789, he and his son Rupert were granted by the Elector the monopoly to engrave the paintings in the Düsseldorf Gallery; The print after a painting by Jacob Jordaens, is identified in the lower margin as No. 208 in Nicolas de Pigage's catalogue of the Düsseldorf Gallery.
