Note: Son of King Philip V of Spain, Louis succeeded to the throne on January 15, 1724 upon the abdication of his father. On February 9 he was formally proclaimed king. He fell ill, however, on August 19 and died 12 days later; Plate [920]: plate mark 40 x 100.8 cm., on sheet 40.8 x 106.3 cm; The Roman printmaker and architect Filippo Vasconi created prints illustrating architectural treatises and a publication on fireworks machines; The prints feature views, elevations, and a plan of the funeral decorations and catafalque designed by Antonio Canevari for the obsequies "in absentia" of King Louis I of Spain, held by the Spanish nation at the Church of San Giacomo degli Spagnoli in Rome; The ground plan of the church includes a legend inscribed on a scroll held by an angel, describing the funeral monument. Longitudinal and lateral views of the nave give prominence to the catafalque. The main facade of the church on Corso del Rinascimento and the facade in Piazza Navona are adorned with a coat of arms, draperies, inscribed tablets, and sculptures; Contents: Planta de la real yglesia de Santiago, y San Ildefonso de la Nacion española en Roma --; Ornato de la fachada principal de la real yglesia de S.tiago y S.
