Note: Sicilian printmaker, who was also active in Rome. The print shows the catafalque designed by Filippo Barigioni for the obsequies at St. Peter's in Rome of Pope Innocent XIII, held on March 14, 1724. The ephemeral funeral structure is adorned with a pyramid topped by a checkered eagle, the heraldic emblem of the Conti family. It is flanked at its four corners by candelabra. There are binding holes in the left margin of sheet, which is annotated in ink ("88") and burned in upper right corner; trimmed within plate mark in upper image; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no.
