Schnapper attributes the print to Etienne; "Jouuenet pinx. / B. Picart romanus ex. Cum Pri. Regis / 1685"--in the lower left corner of image; A biblical quotation (Matthew 9:2:6) is engraved in Latin and French beneath the image; Title devised; French printmaker, also known as "le Romain."; The print reproduces a lost painting by Jean Jouvenet that depicted a paralytic being brought to Christ to be cured; "65"--pencilled in upper center of mount; "Picart le Romain f."--pencilled in lower right of mount; "15"--pencilled in lower center of mount. Publication: [Paris]: B. Picart romanus ex. cum pri. Regis, 1685.
