Note: The drawing depicts the Cuccagna monument exhibited in front of the royal palace in Livorno on February 14, 1732, commissioned by the Hebrew community in celebration of the entry of Carlo, infante of Spain and duke of Parma; The ephemeral monument is designed as a pyramid topped by a personification of Abundance holding a cornucopia. Flanked by fountains of wine, it is decorated with festoons, greased poles, food, fowls, cattle, and sheep. Masked figures and commedia dell'arte characters appear among the onlookers on the square; The German architect and painter Marcus Tuscher from Nuremberg traveled to Rome in 1728. He remained in Italy for several years, drawing jewelry in Livorno for the art collector Philipp von Stosch and recording monuments in various cities.
