This resource merges into one alphabetical listing more than 5,200 terms that index the abstracts published in Art and Archaeology Technical Abstracts between 1974 and 1988. The first volume also contains an index of authors whose works were abstracted.

Topics deal with the technical examination, investigation, analysis, restoration, preservation, and documentation of monuments and works of art. Articles, reports, news items, books, and other publications as well as audiovisual and machine-readable media make up the 2,800 abstracts.
