You can mix it with wheat paste to color the paste for paste papers.
Also, with white, try this....dampen a piece of paper. Sprinkle white
powdered tempera on it. Then, use colored chalks and draw into the wet
paper/white tempera mixture--you get some interesting effects and beautiful
tints. When the chalk dries, it won't smear.
