This was a wonderful exhibit. I wish it had been open for a longer time. Is there any way to find out where it's going? Every aspect of this exhibit was of the highest professionalism and quality--the exhbit cases, the lighting, the brochures, the wall hangings, the accompanying stained glass "windows", and so on. Whoever did the text explanations on each individual exhibit is a marvelous writer and seems to be knowledgeable of the time periods and artists, prayer book owners, and the religious views and beliefs and purposes of the books. Truly a wonderful exhibit.

Editor's note: The Getty Center is the last venue for this exhibition.

The books themselves are incredibly beautiful and detailed. But my admiration of the Web site is tenfold. What an outstanding resource for me and my high school students! This really connects them to the art world that is hard to access from a small rural school in Wheatland. Thank you for an incredible resource.

I found the books extremely moving. I will always remember the devotion and gratitude to god that inspired these books.
I liked the video that explained how the booked were made—literally one page at a time. It was fascinating! What a lesson this is to the young generation of today!

Stunning, some of the most beautiful books I have ever seen.

These books are unbelievable. The time it took for them to be done and how they survived through the years....Everyone should see these Books of Hours. It is our heritage.

I can't seem to find out what the titles of any of the 58 MSS are, or what I would see if I made the trip. Maybe I should go to the Morgan Library website for that information. Nor do I understand how they are displayed&$8212;in cases, with only one or two pages visible? It would help to be able to find out these things about exhibitions.

Editor's note:Thank you for your suggestions. We will consider adding these features in the future. To answer your questions, each of the zoom pages on this Web presentation include the name of the book in the captioning for the image. All of the books in the exhibition are intact books; thus each is opened to one location, revealing two pages from the book.

GREAT. With the zoom feature I could distinguise fine features.

Breathtaking exhibit!

The painstaking detail devoted to each line and stroke are extraordinary. I create books for a living, and looking upon these masterworks makes me think of how much has been lost in the craft today.

A beautiful collection. I'll be back to see it again.

The detail in the illuminations of these manuscripts is just incredible. So painstaking and vibrant. The faith that must have given rise to the artists' inspiration is almost palpable.
